GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) — Rain fell on Highway 90 Saturday as cruisers for Cruisin’ the Coast arrived for a week of classic-car events. The rain did not stop people from watching classics drive down Highway 90.

Chris Blazak came from Covington, Louisiana, and said a little rain would not keep him from watching the cars.
“We’ve been out here evacuated for the hurricanes before and stayed until they made us leave. So yeah. So we pretty die hard to come here and watch cars. It’s a little disappointing. It’s not as many as normal, but it’s still a good bit,” Blazak said.
Nick Guillot, also from Louisiana, said there are always fewer classics on the road until events actually begin, and the rain also was not stopping him.
“Just a little lighter car value, and that’s all. I think, again, like previous, you know, it’s going to pick up. The first weekend is a little wet sometimes. But, you know, I enjoy seeing all the older vehicles, seeing what people are putting their investments into, stuff like that,” Guillot said.

Guillot said he will drive home and return next weekend for official Cruisin’ the Coast events.
