BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — Margaritaville Resort hosted its annual Cruisin’ Block Party Tuesday afternoon from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., drawing thousands of vintage cars to the resort’s front parking lot for food, music, and classic cars.
The event marked its 10th year as part of the Cruisin’ block party tradition.
ET Motorgear Executive Vice President Stephen Braden said the venue draws higher-quality cars and has grown each year, especially with merchandise sales.
“We’ve been here at least six years, and it has grown exponentially every year. This is actually one of the biggest days this trailer will have for the whole week,” Braden said.
People also came to meet automotive celebrity Chris Jacobs, host of TLC’s “Overhaulin’.” As a car lover himself, he makes an effort to come every year.

“When I’m making my schedule for the year, this has always got a slot reserved because, as you said, this is the crown jewel of the car show circuit,” Jacobs said.
Jacobs is attending Cruisin’ for his fourth year and called the week a family reunion in the southeast.
“The amount of people who come out and the amount of cars that come out is just astonishing,” Jacobs said.
Local artists also drew bystanders’ attention at the event.
Brittnea Barnes has been a pinstriping artist since 2007, an art form done on classic cars that Barnes says is making a comeback.

“The people that I get to meet at these things and the stuff that I get to do. There’s nothing like it,” Barnes said.
Attendees were also able to enter a giveaway for a free night’s stay at the resort.
