GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) — Veterans at the Armed Forces Retirement Home got a front-row seat to a parade of classic cars Tuesday afternoon.

Hundreds of vehicles circled the facility’s front lawn as part of the tradition’s 13th year.

People traveled from near and far to take part and thank veterans who call the Gulf Coast home.

One cruiser, who said he has participated since the event began, described the motivation behind it.

“We love to see the veterans. These guys, they’ve given our heart and soul for our nation, and the least we could do is come by once in a while and show our appreciation for what they’ve done, and that’s why we’re here. It started out with one truck, and yeah, it’s gotten huge now,” he said.

The parade lasted one day. Regulars said they enjoy watching the lineup of classic cars grow each year.
