NEW ORLEANS, La. (WAFB) - Families can experience the magic of The Polar Express aboard a real train when ‘THE POLAR EXPRESS’ Train Ride returns to New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal from Dec. 11 through Dec. 31, 2026.
The roughly two-hour holiday experience features performers who bring the classic children’s story to life. Passengers can wear pajamas, present their golden tickets to the Conductor, and enjoy hot chocolate and Walker’s Shortbread served by dancing chefs as the story is read on board.
Santa and his helpers will greet families during the ride, and each guest will receive a silver sleigh bell—the First Gift of Christmas. Caroling and holiday entertainment are also part of the journey.
The train departs from and returns to New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal at 1001 Loyola Avenue. Guests should check in at the Polar Express Box Office inside the terminal. Seating is assigned, and passengers choose their seats during online checkout. All coaches offer the same class of service.
2026 ticket prices: Value departures are $78 for adults and $69.50 for children ages 2–11. Premium departures are $99.25 for adults and $90.50 for children ages 2–11.
