Fairgoers return for tradition and competition

Djuan Dees has attended the fair since 1989.

“I’m here to reminisce on when I was younger and crazier and ride some of these crazy rides,” Dees said.

Dees also enters photography and homegrown fruits and vegetables in the fair exhibits.

“I enter photographs and pictures that I take. And I got a garden. I enter my food and your veggies and stuff. And to see if I won, which I win a lot most of the time. And I enjoy that. That just gives me some kind of feeling, you know, just to enter my home grown food and veggies and get a ribbon. First place ribbon,” Dees said.
