GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) — The Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum is transforming one hall into a Haunted Hangar with an alien encounter theme. The event runs Wednesday through Saturday, Oct. 28-31.
The Haunted Hangar is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m. each day. Admission is $10 per person and includes a hot dog, chips, and a drink.
“We’re transforming one full hall of the museum into the haunted hangar,” board member Roger Kovacs said.

The event is returning for its second year.
“We had a great turnout last year. The kids had a lot of fun,” he said.

Kovacs said some children were scared, but added that the Haunted Hangar was created with families in mind.
“We really wanted to make it fun for the family. It’s just a little bit scary, but it’s not gory like some haunted houses. So it’s a family fun exhibit,” he said.

During the event, the rest of the museum will remain available. Kovacs said visitors can go to the STEM area after they go through the Haunted Hangar.
“The kids can play there. A lot of different things they can do there,” he said.
The Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum is located at 429 Pass Road in Gulfport.
