BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) — The 97th annual Blessing of the Fleet poster was unveiled Wednesday evening.
The 2026 poster was designed by Elizabeth Alexander, a Gulf Coast native. Her inspiration pulls from the magnolia flower, the Biloxi Lighthouse and the Mississippi Sound water.
Alexander said it is an honor to represent the Coast through this year’s poster.
“It is so meaningful to me to pull full circle what my great-great-grandfather began back in the late 1800s, starting the seafood processing,” Alexander said. “Mr. Lazaro Lopez has always been such an icon to Biloxi. And I think he’s pretty satisfied tonight and happy. And I’m just so proud to represent him in this artwork.”
The Blessing of the Fleet is May 30-31.
