Hugh Keeton
News Anchor
Biloxi, MS

Hugh Keeton is an award-winning anchor and storyteller who is proud to call the Mississippi Gulf Coast home. Since arriving at WLOX in 2015, Hugh has had the pleasure of joining viewers nightly as co-anchor of the WLOX evening newscasts, anchoring the 4, 5, and 6 p.m. broadcasts.
In addition to the anchor chair, Hugh is a familiar face throughout the community— from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula— covering the most important stories of the day. Whether he's explaining the impacts of hurricanes or spotlighting the accomplishments of local residents, Hugh brings a passion for telling the stories that make South Mississippi such a special place to live. He also celebrates the Coast's unique character through his weekly "Coast Life" segment, highlighting the culture and people who define the region.
Hugh also serves as co-host of WLOX News This Week, where he speaks with policymakers and newsmakers about the issues shaping South Mississippi and the state.
Hugh's work has earned numerous honors, including first-place awards from the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters recognizing his excellence as an anchor, reporter, and videographer. He has also received multiple awards for reporting excellence at WLOX and at other stations throughout his career.
Before moving to the Coast, Hugh was no stranger to the Magnolia State, growing up in the small North Mississippi town of Iuka and later attending Ole Miss.
Hugh built much of his early broadcasting career in sports, working as a sports anchor at stations in Missouri, Louisiana, and Alabama. His coverage took him to some of the nation's biggest stages, including the World Series and the New Orleans Saints' 2009 championship run to the Super Bowl.
Hugh and his wife, Danielle, along with their four children, are happy to call Long Beach home. As a family, they love spending time outdoors and exploring everything the Mississippi Coast has to offer.
