A Latte Friends in D’Iberville specializing in creative coffee

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WLOX) - A chance for a good cup of coffee and providing real-world job experiences for those with special needs.
The A Latte Friends coffee shop in D’Iberville recently opened on Automall Parkway. It features 19 special needs employees along with four managers.
All involved are making sure the coffee’s hot, the muffins are ready, and the orders are on time.
Former D’Iberville High School Special Needs teacher Tanya Estep wanted her former students to get job experience and work as a team.
“It was just a great idea, I thought, to give to the community and give them the opportunity to work and learn new skills,” Estep said. “I guess it was just a calling after teaching, so I’m still teaching, but it’s just a different environment and I’m learning from them. I didn’t know anything about making coffee.”
Although the coffee shop is now open, the shop’s grand opening is set for September 9.
