Behind the Business: No Mirrors Barber Studio

GAUTIER, Miss. (WLOX) - One Coast businessman proves that it is never too late to start.

Justin Williams has spent the past five years living out his calling through No Mirrors Barber Studio.

Williams took a bet on himself in 2020 and opened a barber shop on Gautier-Vancleave Road. Once the keys were in hand, Williams got to work, making the space his own.

“I just had a vision. I’m from Los Angeles, California, so my whole shop is based on a Dodgers jersey,” said Williams. “When somebody comes in here, they’re like, ‘This is in Gautier?’”

After renovations were complete, the work quickly shifted to building a team of barbers.

“The best advice I’ve ever got was to build a team, build a family, versus employees,” said Williams.

Williams said anyone who steps inside No Mirrors Barber Studio is sure to learn a lot about him, from the paintings and quotes that fill the walls to his community involvement.

“I’ve been in the C3 Car Club since 2015. I’m very involved in everything,” said Williams. “We host at least four main events every year, from back-to-school to feeding the homeless for Thanksgiving to toy drives for Christmas, and trunk-a-treat every year.”

Williams said barbers play an important role in the community, and he enjoys partnering with others to uplift the next generation.

“With the high school being right around the corner, these kids I see every day, they do something to me. I know I have to be a good example for them.”

No Mirrors Barber Studio is located at 4353 Gautier-Vancleave Road.
